Phelps, Kellogg’s — and a Boycott?

As you may have heard, Kellog's has dropped Michael Phelps endorsement because he got pictured hitting a bong. Anyhoo, this great blog LRC has Kellog's Chief Marketing Officer's contact info, relayed here for your convenience. Oh also, I'm boycotting Kellog's and I encourage you to do the same.

My letter is below. Please join me in ending this bullshit.

Dear Mr. Baynes:

It has come to my attention that you will no longer be endorsing 14-time gold metal Olympian Michael Phelps due to his perceived recreational use of marijuana. Although I understand you may simply be saving face, you have lost a customer. As a recreational pot smoker myself, I enjoy eating your cereals when I have the 'munchies' as they say; from here on out I will dine soley on the puffed rices and sugar of your competitors. Re-instating his endorsement and a public appology might convince me otherwise. I am an active blogger and activist and will encourage my readers to follow suite. Thank you for your time, and please find the additional time to see the error of your ways.

Your former consumer,

{My Name}

Oh, goody! Another reason to continue my personal boycott of Kellogg's cereals!

(We still buy the dang cereal bars. Maybe I should try the HEB store brand of those.)

Last night Alanna told me that Subway was also going to be dropping him. That would be really difficult for me to boycott Subway, considering I eat there at least four times a week. Luckily, they got smart and decided to keep him.

I love the letter, you know I care a hell of a ot more about personal freedom than pot, but I was bitching about it too.
